Progress Pride Flag Quilt

Progress Pride Flag Patchwork quilt

I’m very excited to have finished this patchwork Progress Pride Flag quilt. The pattern is by Bobbie Gentili from Geeky Bobbin. All of the fabrics are scraps from my stash.

This was a fun project and the finished quilt is really bright and colorful. As part of this process, I also enjoyed learning more about how the design of the Progress Pride flag came to be.

Bumpkies and Back Tack

October 26, 2005

We spent the weekend visiting my in-laws in New London. Here is Roxy at the pumpkin patch picking out her “bumpky.” I love this time of year. We had a noreaster here yesterday, but today looks like such a pretty, sunny fall day. My back tack tote is finally done. It is denim on theRead More →

A temporary hut

October 17, 2005

I couldn’t resist this fuzzy purple fur marked down 50% at Joann’s. The owl fabric came from a swap months ago with Katey at One Good Bumblebee. Here is a view from above of our weekend project – our first sukkah is now standing! After much cursing, some help from a friend, and a newRead More →

Rain

October 14, 2005

It has been raining in Boston endlessly. Seriously, I think it has rained here every day for at least two weeks. I love listening to the sound of the rain, especially when I’m napping and when I’m sewing. It was lovely to listen while I put the eyes on this little bear. She also hasRead More →

Treating myself

October 10, 2005

I want to say thank you to everyone who sent me a comment or an email in the last few days. I’m terribly behind with everything and I haven’t responded to anyone, but I was really touched and cheered up by all the nice words. Things are slowly moving toward normal around here. I wentRead More →

I’m Back

October 6, 2005

With much happiness and relief I am finally ready to say that I’m feeling better! Thank you to everyone who sent such nice comments on my last post and who checked in on me via email during this difficult month. I have been laying on the couch feeling so exhausted and so nauseous that itRead More →

Taking a break

September 5, 2005

I have not been feeling too well lately. I know I’ll feel better in a few weeks, but for now I haven’t been able to tackle many projects or do much blogging. I’m going to need to take a little crafting/blogging break for a while. I will hopefully post from time to time and IRead More →

Mail and a new bear in the works

August 31, 2005

I received this lovely little package from Fiona. We did a little swap for her lion pin cushion and she sent along some adorable printed fabric and woven cherry ribbon and…real wool blanketing! It is so thick and soft I couldn’t believe it. Her cats made from this material must be really sturdy and soRead More →

White Fuzzy Bear #2

August 30, 2005

I made this fuzzy bear as a special order for a colleague of Charlie’s. I think she bought it as a baby shower gift. She looked at my photo album and picked this one and I made another just like it. It was sort of weird to replicate a bear I’ve made in the past.Read More →

Needle Case

August 29, 2005

Because I didn’t participate in back-tack the first time around (I didn’t have a blog yet), I don’t have much in the way of creative notions holders. I was sorely lacking a needle case, especially since a few weeks ago I moved all my sewing supplies into the new sewing box that Charlie got meRead More →

Dolly Purse

August 25, 2005

Last night I finally had some crafting energy and made this dolly purse. At the top of the head there’s a button and when you open it up you can store all your treasures inside. The pattern came from A Treasury of Needlecraft for the New Baby which I’ve posted about before. Here are someRead More →
