Dolly Purse

August 25, 2005

Dscn0006_2

Last night I finally had some crafting energy and made this dolly purse. At the top of the head there’s a button

and when you open it up you can store all your treasures inside.

The pattern came from A Treasury of Needlecraft for the New Baby which I’ve posted about before. Here are some pictures of the project from the book

I thought it would the perfect thing for a little girl to carry around. A doll and a purse combined! I’ve been meaning to make some things for my twin nieces in New York (who are just two months younger than Roxy) and I think they might enjoy this. The question is – can they share or do I need to make another?

Now that is cute! I like your version better than the one in the picture. 🙂
p.s. I hate to say it (because it means more work for you) but I’d make two. I have twin nephews (5) and I can never bring myself to send them something to share.

Aw, that is just so darn cute! If your nieces are anything like my son you are definately going to have to make another one.

So cute! My daughter would flip for that bag. I must find that book.
Oh, you will most definitely have to make another (what’s sharing?).

Well, you should make another….unless you want to give their mother a horrible headache! LOL! Too cute!

That is precious. Yours is even better than the one in the picture! I would say, unfortunately for you, to make 2. My 2 little ones can have 2 nearly identical objects and still fight over them!

Okay, that’s officially my favorite thing that you’ve made. Ever. Too cute!

So cute! Your stuff keeps getting cuter and cuter. I just love it. And the fabric you used for her dress is amazing!

first time commenter…i love the way you did her! the eyes and the dress fabric are great. i was thinking that it reminded me of a little like a project from a jean ray laury book. isn’t that one great?

That is so sweet – I’m sure any little girl would adore it. The fabric on her dress is so happy and summery!
