Progress Pride Flag Quilt

Progress Pride Flag Patchwork quilt

I’m very excited to have finished this patchwork Progress Pride Flag quilt. The pattern is by Bobbie Gentili from Geeky Bobbin. All of the fabrics are scraps from my stash.

This was a fun project and the finished quilt is really bright and colorful. As part of this process, I also enjoyed learning more about how the design of the Progress Pride flag came to be.

nearly there!

February 28, 2007

Just a quick post today to say that the shop has been updated!  I’m so excited to see everything finally for sale all together.  It is really satisfying. And my buddy Humpty Dumpty is up, too.  And tomorrow I install the show.  I just want to say thank you to Charlie, my awesome husband, whoRead More →

patchwork unicorn (grey and red)

February 25, 2007

I finished this unicorn today.  I made him for a PTA fundraising auction at Roxanne’s nursery school. I’m hoping that a unicorn will be appealing to preschool-aged children and their parents.     I’m actually not sure I’ll be able to to attend the event, though, because it is during nap time on the sameRead More →

February 24, 2007

Hi all, Right now I am putting all the finishing touches on everything and getting ready to install my show on Thursday.  On Wednesday morning at 10:00 am Eastern I will do a giant shop update. I will post everything that will be on display, over 50 pieces (nearly all my recent work), on myRead More →

turtle in a blue beret

February 21, 2007

A  turtle in blues. I finally cut into some of my loveliest blue fabrics for this guy, including some vintage feedsack. Here is my inspiration for the beret.

a bird, a lizard, and some other stuff

February 19, 2007

I finished another bird and another lizard for the shop at MassHort. This bird is made from two of my favorite vintage brown florals and some white and natural linen. The lizard is super fancy gold crushed velvet and white linen. His eye is silver.  So very glittery, this one. I’ve been busy with lotsRead More →

turtle (with party hat)

February 14, 2007

We are snowed in today.  Charlie took the car. Nursery school is canceled.   Roxanne spent nearly an hour at the kitchen sink this morning playing with suds and water with two valentine rubber ducks my mom sent.  And we played out in the snow – twice already.  And we baked bread. Now everyone is quietlyRead More →

bird 6

February 13, 2007

Bird 6 peering at the camera and posing with a beautiful canvas by Brigid McCabe.  I’ve decided to do three sets of four toys for MassHort. Each set will include a lizard, a turtle, a bird and a snail.  The first set is all in greens.  Next up, browns.  The snails will come at theRead More →

turtle

February 9, 2007

Okay, two down for MassHort, ten more to go.  Can you tell I sorted through my greens?  Because I often use the tiniest pieces of fabric for toys, I keep every scrap.   The cotton fabrics live in clear plastic bins, one for each color, on the bookshelves in our bedroom. To find the piece IRead More →

lizard (silk and linen)

February 8, 2007

A lizard made from white linen and awesome lizardy silk from Stephanie.   He is the first in a series of toys I am making for Flora, the lovely store at the Massachusetts Horticultural Society. These toys will also be for sale through Flora at the New England Flower Show.   I’m pretty excited about this project.Read More →

bird 5

February 7, 2007

I completed the fifth in my series of birds. My studio is in our bedroom and this flock is perched near Charlie’s side of the bed.  He says he feels like they have all flown down to roost near him. I think I’ll make a few other things now and come back to birds inRead More →
