Progress Pride Flag Quilt

Progress Pride Flag Patchwork quilt

I’m very excited to have finished this patchwork Progress Pride Flag quilt. The pattern is by Bobbie Gentili from Geeky Bobbin. All of the fabrics are scraps from my stash.

This was a fun project and the finished quilt is really bright and colorful. As part of this process, I also enjoyed learning more about how the design of the Progress Pride flag came to be.

one trim package left

June 7, 2005

Just a quick post to say that only one trim package in my little trim sway is left. The first set is going to go to Bertha and the third set has already gone to Amanda. The second set remains and features a very unique piece of ruffly rainbow ric rac (what nice alliteration). IfRead More →

scary seal

June 7, 2005

Okay, I made this seal and he is so scary. Charlie says the seal is crying, “Kill me now! Every moment I’m alive is agony!” and I have to agree with him. I think this will be the last creature I make from my book from the late 80’s “Toys for Kids.” They are justRead More →

Matryoshka Dolls

June 6, 2005

After my series of craft disasters, I’m back in the swing of things. On Friday I picked a new project that I got pretty excited about – making sets of Matryoshka dolls. You know, those Russian nesting dolls, but made from fabric. I put my new embroidery stitches from my embroidery book to work andRead More →

Craft Disasters

June 3, 2005

Well, nothing to show in the craft department today. Not that I haven’t been busy because I have been busy, but still no results because I have been experiencing a series of crafting disasters. First, I was making an apron, but that bias tape – IT IS SO EVIL. Enough said. Then, I was workingRead More →

The modern baby

June 2, 2005

When I was pregnant with Roxanne, Charlie and I were on a 9 month quest to outfit her room according to the way we decorated the rest of our house – that is in a contemporary, mid-century modern style. Let me tell you, it was not an easy task. It seems that most companies thatRead More →

Elephant

June 1, 2005

I made a little elephant from the same pattern as my cherry elephants (see Crafty Goodness photo album at left). She is made from that same thrifted and felted scarf that I’ve been working with, although sadly it is all used up now. Her ears are wool felt with blanket stitching in pink and brownRead More →

Another Bear

May 31, 2005

I made another bear – this time with a flowery dress. She is all wool felt. My bears and bunnies have been leaving me to go to good homes elsewhere and that is really satisfying. Right now I’m working on an elephant, but I have grand plans to return to my owls at some pointRead More →

She can walk! (and the garden is coming along)

May 30, 2005

She learned to walk! Over this long weekend, Roxanne has made some serious strides (pun intended) toward walking independently. It is amazing. This morning she was walking from the family room to the kitchen and bag bringing daddy little cars. Wow! This weekend I put the annuals in the garden. We now have three varietiesRead More →

Bears and a New Sculpture

May 27, 2005

It was sunny this morning for about 15 minutes. We haven’t seen sun in over two weeks, so that was nice, I guess. Roxy and I went to visit our friend Alyson from playgroup to see her new baby, Zach. I got to hold him for nearly half an hour – oh he is soRead More →

Help, I’m drowning…

May 26, 2005

Well, I made a little froggie. He is sitting up and smiling at me as we speak. Look at those bug eyes! This guy was fun to make and there will be others – perhaps some with inside out seams? I was so inspired by Hillary at Wee Wonderfuls link to Tamar Mogendorff. Her dollsRead More →
