Progress Pride Flag Quilt

Progress Pride Flag Patchwork quilt

I’m very excited to have finished this patchwork Progress Pride Flag quilt. The pattern is by Bobbie Gentili from Geeky Bobbin. All of the fabrics are scraps from my stash.

This was a fun project and the finished quilt is really bright and colorful. As part of this process, I also enjoyed learning more about how the design of the Progress Pride flag came to be.

Bunny #3

May 25, 2005

Okay, the newest bunny is finished! This one is also made out of a thrifted 100% wool scarf that I felted in the washing machine and wool felt for features and tunic. She also has a little flower button sewn onto her pocket with metallic thread (oooh, metallic thread is cool – it just gotRead More →

#2 Bunny

May 24, 2005

Here is my second little bunny. His body is made from a 100% wool scarf (originally from J Crew, but I found it this weekend for $2 at a thrift store) that I felted in the washing machine. It is so soft and fuzzy now! His (or is it a her? hard to say) featuresRead More →

Bunny

May 23, 2005

Here is my little wool felt bunny. She is wearing a little A-line dress with a smart side pocket. Perhaps she needs some shoes? Hmmm…. I hope you like her. Another is soon to be in the works. In funny baby news, whenever our now 14 month-old Roxy sees a baby, or even just aRead More →

Three Cards for Three Babies

May 22, 2005

I am in the midst of putting together lots of baby presents. A woman in my playgroup just had a baby boy and another is due in mid-June and I’m going to a baby shower for an old friend of ours this weekend, so I spent some time today making little t-shirt cards for everyone.Read More →

Omiyage

May 21, 2005

Charlie and I are about to head out for a nice night on the town and I have to pick up the babysitter in just a minute, but I wanted to post some omiyage that I made a few weeks ago. They are both little butterfly bags and the pattern is from this book: TheyRead More →

Another little birdie pouch

May 20, 2005

As usual, the second time I make something I am more satisfied with the results. This little birdie pouch is made from pink and green calicos with brown wool felt lining the pockets inside and felt wings and beak. I like the colors better than the last one, and I put little leaves on theRead More →

Bird Change Pouch

May 19, 2005

(click on the pictures for a larger view) Yesterday I saw this site, posted by Alison at six and a half stitches (thanks!), and I decided to try to make a birdie pouch. I created a pattern and set to work. The outside of the pouch is made from a vintage cloth napkin and theRead More →

Erica

May 18, 2005

Here she is at long last – my newest doll. Her name is Erica and, like me, she is a surly brunette (notice that she is giving you just a hint of a smile). Her body and shoes are made of wool felt (oh how I love wool felt!). She has a cotton calico dressRead More →

Hey, I’m a Housewife

May 17, 2005

At the request of Amy over at angry chicken, and because it seems that everyone is talking about aprons this week, I thought I would post an apron I made a few months ago. I love the fabric and the pattern is really vintage and cool. The project involved a LOT of bias tape, whichRead More →

Little Veggies

May 17, 2005

Among the cutest of all of Roxy’s many toys is this little stuffed peapod from Under the Nile. He is such a simple design with a simple little face and a pointed hat. We often use him as tongs to pinch her little nose. All of the veggies this company makes are so adorable. HowRead More →
