Progress Pride Flag Quilt

Progress Pride Flag Patchwork quilt

I’m very excited to have finished this patchwork Progress Pride Flag quilt. The pattern is by Bobbie Gentili from Geeky Bobbin. All of the fabrics are scraps from my stash.

This was a fun project and the finished quilt is really bright and colorful. As part of this process, I also enjoyed learning more about how the design of the Progress Pride flag came to be.

Ooops, seems I forgot

May 16, 2006

May 3rd was my one year blog anniversary. Slipped my mind. Guess having a baby on April 25th sort of overshadowed it a bit. It’s hard to believe that I’ve had While She Naps for a whole year. This blog has been a lot of fun for me. It provides me with a wonderful senseRead More →

Yes, there is still crafting going on despite the mighty rain

May 14, 2006

Today is the sixth day in a row of cold and rain. Mister Sunshine is hiding (according to Roxanne) so we can’t go to the park. We’re feeling rather cooped up here, but despite the gloomy weather we’ve managed to try a new pub in Ashland this weekend (it was excellent – especially the chipsRead More →

brown and orange fish

May 9, 2006

The second fish is done. This was the last of that marvelous brown tea towel from I found at a yard sale last summer. I’ve been hanging on to a scrap of it for a long time, but I’m glad to see it in use on a project now.

fish and bird

May 8, 2006

A few new creatures for the charity auction – this little bird in purple with a scarf around her head and this bright fish with some pink embroidery and one more fish in brown and orange is nearly done. Today is our first day at home without daddy to help out. Things have been surprisinglyRead More →

Rummage Sale Finds

May 6, 2006

Simon and I managed to make it out of the house by ourselves this morning. We went to another church rummage sale and then to an incredible estate sale. Lots of ooohhhing and ahhhing over the new baby by everyone we met, and lots of random comments about me having a baby so new outRead More →

Back in the Swing of Things

May 4, 2006

Well, I’ve been a mother of two for nine days and it’s been overwhelming, but I’m getting the hang of it now and I feel like my feet are back on the ground. Simon is an awesome baby – an efficient nurser, a total cutie pie, and great sleeper to boot (keep your fingers crossedRead More →

Purple Elephant

April 24, 2006

I made this soft purple elephant for my friend Lynne’s baby girl. I just love this fabric – it is a short pile super soft fur. I had a yellow piece a while back, sent to me by my BackTack II partner, and this purple piece is from Maitreya from my prints for solids swap.Read More →

Due Date +1 and Still Pregnant

April 23, 2006

The bumper is done. Let me just say that one more time. The bumper is done. Yep. We’re ready for you little one – any time now. Here is a picture of the completed project. Clearly it will look better in a crib with a cute little baby snuggled up inside instead of surrounding theRead More →

Cozy

April 20, 2006

Yesterday I made this felt cozy for a tissue box. I really enjoyed the applique and the hand embroidery on this project – the tedious parts of sewing make me happy right now. I think this cozy might look nice in Roxy’s room (which is done in yellows and oranges). I had another doctor’s appointmentRead More →
