Progress Pride Flag Quilt

Progress Pride Flag Patchwork quilt

I’m very excited to have finished this patchwork Progress Pride Flag quilt. The pattern is by Bobbie Gentili from Geeky Bobbin. All of the fabrics are scraps from my stash.

This was a fun project and the finished quilt is really bright and colorful. As part of this process, I also enjoyed learning more about how the design of the Progress Pride flag came to be.

WIP – the three little pigs

October 20, 2006

Piggy #2 is finished and #3 is cut out. Here they are on my work table. And yes, there will be a Big Bad Wolf. Since my exhibit in March is at the library I want to illlustrate some classic children’s tales. The Three Little Pigs is perfect for me because I like to makeRead More →

pig #1

October 18, 2006

The first of The Three Little Pigs. I was thinking something like this He’s made from felt, linen, hand-dyed wool, and printed muslin with some copper wire in his tail to make it curly. Here are some side views. His limbs have super-strong button joints – a button between the limb and the body andRead More →

red head and temper tantrums

October 16, 2006

A red head. The last of the dolls for right now. We are in temper tantrum hell around here. Seemingly prompted by absolutely nothing, just existing, Roxanne can launch herself into a heck of a tantrum. A tantrum that lasts a good 50 minutes in which she is out of control in every way. SheRead More →

what I’m working on

October 12, 2006

A giant tree doll for my show in March. The display cases where my work will be shown are pretty large and intimidating so I need to get started now and I need to make some big pieces. This girl is about 2 feet and I think the pattern is scaling up pretty well. LotsRead More →

elephant #9 and Sukkot

October 9, 2006

This guy is the last in the series. His name is The Kitchen Sink and his ears are made from a lovely vintage necktie I’ve bought thrifting a while ago. Again, it is so pleasing to see a beloved piece of fabric put to good use. We had terrific fall weather for our Sukkah partyRead More →

elephant #8 – happy days

October 7, 2006

Elephant #8 used the last of my treasured vintage teapot tea towel. So glad it went to a good use. And he is sporting a lovely #8 on his tush. Charlie and I went to a Lebanese food festival last night and they had a little rummage sale. I found this great doll rocking chairRead More →
