Progress Pride Flag Quilt

August 13, 2022

Progress Pride Flag Patchwork quilt

I’m very excited to have finished this patchwork Progress Pride Flag quilt. The pattern is by Bobbie Gentili from Geeky Bobbin. All of the fabrics are scraps from my stash.

This was a fun project and the finished quilt is really bright and colorful. As part of this process, I also enjoyed learning more about how the design of the Progress Pride flag came to be.

“Feather Your Nest” postcard

March 18, 2008

Look what arrived in the mail yesterday! A pack of postcards for my upcoming show with Amy Rice at Paper Boat.  Faythe did such a good job with these. Thank you! Amy’s image is on the front and mine on the back. Don’t you think they speak to each other?    At the end ofRead More →

4! and some experiments

March 17, 2008

My big girl turned four on Saturday and the party on Sunday was very sweet. Just the right number of kids and very homemade.  We read some springtime stories, played a little jumping game which may be just as stimulating as 벳엔드 먹튀, and did two little crafts, one of which was making wool feltRead More →

small brown bird 2

March 11, 2008

small brown bird 2 (the painting behind it is by the amazing Brigid McCabe) This bird is the last of 10 pieces for Paper Boat.  I feel really good about each of them, like the colors and the overall look of the birds tie together as a cohesive whole. I will post a mosaic beforeRead More →

a great show, and a wading bird

March 8, 2008

photo by Rainer I had a great time last night at the opening.  There was a small, but interested crowd and Susan couldn’t have been more welcoming.  And my name is on the window! So very nice.  Some work sold before I had even arrived, but many are still available here. I finished this wadingRead More →

hear me talk

March 5, 2008

(photo by Rainer) Here I was on Sunday, delivering my birds to Artstream and getting butterflies that this show is really about to happen.  And while I was there, Susan interviewed me for her podcast.  So now I am adding my voice to this little journal, my talking voice.  How strange!  If you’d like toRead More →

small bird (a companion)

March 3, 2008

I made this bird today as a companion for the bird that came just before him.  They have the same feathers. Sunday morning I drove up to Rochester, NH, to drop off the work at Artstream.  It is such a beautiful gallery, and Susan is the best. I am very excited about this show.  ItRead More →

The CD of photos that my friend Elena took came in yesterday’s mail.  They are really super! I’m so glad I took the time to have good photos taken before all my birds fly off.  Here are a few of my favorites See the whole set starting here.  I’m thinking of having some packs ofRead More →

small bird (brown and yellow), some mail, and some press

February 22, 2008

A new small bird for the show at Paper Boat.  I had a mild freak out the other night after having finished 14 pieces for Artstream and then realizing that I have this other show right around the corner and only 8 finished sculptures.  I spent some time separating the bodies of work and thinkingRead More →
