Progress Pride Flag Quilt

August 13, 2022

Progress Pride Flag Patchwork quilt

I’m very excited to have finished this patchwork Progress Pride Flag quilt. The pattern is by Bobbie Gentili from Geeky Bobbin. All of the fabrics are scraps from my stash.

This was a fun project and the finished quilt is really bright and colorful. As part of this process, I also enjoyed learning more about how the design of the Progress Pride flag came to be.

George

October 29, 2010

She had a great time marching in the parade this morning as our first president. She was in heaven. (You may remember Roxanne as Lincoln last year in Kindergarten). This costume started with an incredible knit hat that is warm enough towear all winter. We embellished a thrifted suede vest with some wool felt andRead More →

blue fish

October 25, 2010

I made this fish on Friday while Stella was home sick.  She was snuggled up in our bed watching Little Traveler's Japan on the portable DVD player. She is better now and back at school today. This weekend I spent some time sewing patches on all 22 of the Daisy Scouts' uniforms.  And we madeRead More →

October 21, 2010

Thank you for all the excitement over my amazing fabric find at the Wellesley town dump.  I had to start using it right away, so I cut into one of the larger floral scraps and made a plush snail shell with a linen snail body.  And then I thought maybe it would be cool toRead More →

sewing kit: a birthday gift

October 16, 2010

Our little friend, Darla, is turning six today.  I made her a sewing kit for her birthday.  I bought this hinged wooden box at Michael's. It has a magnetic closure.  I cut some pink polka dotted paper and used Mod Podge to glue a square of it on top and a smaller square on theRead More →

rainbow fish

October 12, 2010

The Daisy Scouts sewing project went well and it was really fun to get the group excited to sew. When teaching Roxanne and Stella to sew the most difficult part for them is always remembering to put the needle back down through the same side it came up through.  They instinctively want to wrap theRead More →

catch of the day

October 4, 2010

As many of you guessed, I have been sewing felt fish.  I have sewn felt goldfish in the past (and you can, too!  See that free pattern over there, on the left?  Give it a try!), but this is a new fish shape.  This pattern started with an image of a fish lamp by FrankRead More →

It is a warm, stormy fall day out there.  Inside, I am having an amazing time sewing something new from felt.  Here is a sneak peek. Can you guess what it is?
