Square Lion #2 – Black and Green

June 7, 2006

Dscn0010_13

I finished the second lion in the cube zoo series. I wanted to do one in black and green. His sides are black wool felt and grey wool, his face is a heavy flannel backed with interfacing so it wouldn’t tear, and his mane is made up of all sorts of green and white cotton prints. The tops of each leg are white flannel and the undersides are green ticking.

I must say my desk is a jumble of patterns right now. Turns out I still haven’t put away the pattern I made for the long dog and accidentally used his ears on this lion. His ears are a big bigger and stick up a bit more than the last one, but that’s okay with me. I changed their mouths last night to make them a bit more smiley. I think they are friendllier now.

Here is his hang tag

and the two of them clowning around, waiting for the third one (in greys and yellows) to be stuffed so he can come and play.

Cube zoo bears are next.

I love reading your blog and always wait with anticipation to see what you create next. You are always so full of great ideas! Because of all of you great crafting bloggers I have decided to try and make some stuffies for my seven month old grandson. I’m not sure how long it will take me to complete them but I can’t wait to see how they turn out as I’m not much of a crafter in that area. Thanks so much for your inspiration and your cube zoo lions are the cutest little babies I have ever seen!
