Progress Pride Flag Quilt

Progress Pride Flag Patchwork quilt

I’m very excited to have finished this patchwork Progress Pride Flag quilt. The pattern is by Bobbie Gentili from Geeky Bobbin. All of the fabrics are scraps from my stash.

This was a fun project and the finished quilt is really bright and colorful. As part of this process, I also enjoyed learning more about how the design of the Progress Pride flag came to be.

back from our trip

April 25, 2009

We had a great family vacation in D.C.  We stayed in Dupont Circle and saw my family in Maryland, ate delicious food (Hank's Oyster House was a favorite, with Mr. Yogato tangy yogurt with mochi for dessert).  We spent some quality time with Lincoln and the Wright Brothers.  And we got a sneak peak atRead More →

magazine stuff

April 16, 2009

My sister-in-law's house is on the cover of Metropolitan Home this month.  Those little girls are my nieces, Jordan and Ellis, and on their heads are felt birthday crowns I made for them when they turned four!  How cool is that!  And Passover is officially over tonight. The pizza guy should be here any momentRead More →

Studio Update

April 10, 2009

Stella has a pink kitty that she loves so much.  He is her special guy and she drags him everywhere.  He has been her constant companion for three years now and he is a bit worse for the wear. Lucky for kitty it is his birthday every day.  She sets a nice table and invitesRead More →

little bird and Pesach cooking

April 5, 2009

Last night I finished this little bird in orange and blue for my show at Lark & Key. I took a few birds over to a nature preserve that abuts our property called Cronk's Rocky Woodland. There is a great old house there with an outdoor fireplace. The mantle is covered in moss and isRead More →

blue bird

April 2, 2009

Just in time for Spring. I finished this blue bird today and she is up in my shop now. Passover is approaching fast.  We are cleaning out the pantry and the fridge this weekend and then I need to start cooking.  I'm making my own gefilte fish again, with smoked and fresh salmon, plus theRead More →

patchwork crab

March 31, 2009

I'm from Maryland originally and I love Maryland crabs.  My birthday is in the beginning of August, high crab season, and I always chose to go to a crab shack to celebrate.  I miss sitting outside on a hot summer evening, mouth on fire from the seasoning, salt and cayenne under my nails, eating thatRead More →

two more mini owls

March 27, 2009

The second mini owl is now up in the shop. And the third one is a baby owlet for my May show at Lark & Key.  Here he is hanging out with his mother. Hooray for tiny little owls!

Polish mini owl

March 26, 2009

First, some lovely old wooden alphabet stamps I bought in Atlanta a few weeks ago. I love these all jumbled together in a bowl. Next, my sister Rachel has started a blog.  Rachel is a wonderfully creative writer, artist, cook, lawyer and all around awesome person.  Check out this great poem she wrote about leadingRead More →

goldfish

March 19, 2009

I revisited an old pattern of mine and made a goldfish today.  He came together so nicely.  And I still had a scrap left of the vintage necktie that I had used on the original one. I like the lips on the new one better and I added a solid orange back fin, too.  IRead More →

spring bird

March 17, 2009

The birthday was fantastic.  This was the first birthday that Roxanne has had in which she was truly happy and that was amazing to witness.  She welcomed her friends and sat with them at the table to do the craft project.  She loved the yoga class, gobbled two lamb chops and lots of noodles andRead More →
