Progress Pride Flag Quilt

August 13, 2022

Progress Pride Flag Patchwork quilt

I’m very excited to have finished this patchwork Progress Pride Flag quilt. The pattern is by Bobbie Gentili from Geeky Bobbin. All of the fabrics are scraps from my stash.

This was a fun project and the finished quilt is really bright and colorful. As part of this process, I also enjoyed learning more about how the design of the Progress Pride flag came to be.

Humpty Dumpty in the shop

January 24, 2010

Just a quick note to say that I have posted the two Humpty Dumpty dolls in my shop.  I made these two dolls last summer for Australian Homespun and had to wait to post them until now.  They traveled around the world together for their photo shoot, but are happily home now and I'm soRead More →

Raccoon

January 19, 2010

I had a great deal of fun with this little guy and he came together on the first try (I love it when that happens).  And have you seen Violette Testacalda's amazing soft sculptures, (check our her raccoon)?  She paints on them so beautifully. Really creative and like nothing I've seen before.

elephant friend

January 14, 2010

I made this felt elephant today as a friend for the lion.  I kind of like that they are both the same size.

For your love

January 14, 2010

My Valentine's Day collection is now for sale in my shop! This one is my favorite.

Valentine’s Day Collection Coming Thursday

January 12, 2010

I'm so excited to show you a collection of lovely handmade things I have been working on for Valentine's Day.  Birds of several varieties, including a quail, two wrens, and a sweet little bird in a white downy nest make up the majority of the collection.  Each bird has a linen heart tag with metallicRead More →

Valentine’s Day Collection

January 6, 2010

A little collection of handmade birds, and perhaps a few other things, will be coming to my shop next Thursday, January 14.  I love the color red and I am having a lot of fun coming up with little, lovely red things to sew.

a little goat

January 5, 2010

I shrunk my goat pattern to 60% and made it up in black and gold quilting cottons left over from my summer bumblebee.

sitting

January 2, 2010

I'm playing with different ways to construct a seated animal toy.  I tried a dog with attached limbs. He is made from wool felt.

snow day

January 2, 2010

We are home today while a steady, slow-falling snow coats the outdoors.  I am trying to play around more with my camera.  Today I figured out how to turn off the flash in the macro setting. I hate reading the manual, but I learn something each time I do.  Here are some shots from aroundRead More →

Happy New Year!

December 31, 2009

A few highlights from my studio this year.  I have had a really interesting, exciting crafting year. I've sewn nearly every day and that has been a true joy.  And I wrote a book this year (and I can't wait to see it come together and become available in 2010). I have so many ideasRead More →
