Today is my birthday. Charlie, Roxanne and Simon gave me a lovely chunky chain-link bracelet this morning, perfect for pairing with my watch. I like chunky jewelry. Our babysitter is coming at 5:45 and Charlie and I are going out to my favorite restaurant in Cambridge for a nice dinner. Having a summer birthday means having a quiet birthday. Most people are on vacation on August 3rd so it doesn’t make sense to have a party. In fact, my sister (whose birthday is July 18) and I have both found that people are very likely to forget your birthday if you are born in the summer. Oh well. Good thing my little girls have March and April birthdays.

I finished this elephant yesterday when the refrigerator repair man was here. It’s made from more of the wool I dyed orange and some funky floral fabric from Lisa.

We are off to the pool this morning. I’ve actually had the girls indoors because it’s just been too hot for a three-month-old, but I think if we get out in the morning it might not be so bad. Have a good day everyone!

    I turned 31 on July 29 and I must agree with you: birthday in summer means a quiet time and only few congratulations.
