I’m on a pretty serious elephant kick.
Thankfully packages of fabric with text and numbers are arriving on my doorstep daily. Thank you to everyone who agreed to swap with me. So much fun! And, I slipped away to The Fabric Place in Framingham during nap time today to pick up a few more and some buttons, too. Charlie is home, but pretty much out of commission because he is fasting for Yom Kippur. Not having to fast is a major perk of nursing for me. I’ve only had to fast once in the past three years due to either being pregnant or nursing. I’m a really sucky faster – grouchy and tired and no fun to be with.
Our sukkah went up on Saturday without a hitch. Roxy and I will be decorating it this week after nap times. I’ll take some pictures when it is all done.
And I am experiencing an identity shift. I was at a Wellesley Mother’s Forum event one evening last week. We were going around the room introducing ourselves and I introduced myself as a soft toy artist. For real. A former teacher, a mom, and an artist. Now that’s pretty cool.

Congrats, artist! a well deserved title, your work is gorgeous and inspiring. You’ve now got me on an elephant kick, I have no where near your talent but I’m working on it!

Do you live in Ma, by any chance? I used to live near a Framingham when I lived over there…

Love these little elephants – their stumpy legs are so cute! And congrats on establishing your title – you know, it’s great you finally feel you can use it.

Can you put a picture of the elephants next to something so I could have an idea of how big they are?
They are fantastic… and I will admit, I tried to make my own, but just could not get it to work. Maybe I am trying to do it too small??
