Roxanne has had such a big summer. She moved into her big girl bed a month ago and is doing great, only getting “lost” in the sheets twice. She stays in there, even though she is entirely capable of getting out. In fact, you might not believe this, but I put her in her bed with toys and books for 45 min. every morning so that I can take a shower and when I come back she is right where I left her. Seriously.
Two weeks ago I was folding laundry in her room and she spotted some underwear I bought for her. She declared that she was going to wear them and that was it. She was potty trained, at least as far as pee is concerned. She is still working on telling me before she has to poop instead of while she is pooping. Anyone have any advice on helping her figure this out?
And the week after next she starts nursery school at our synagogue three mornings a week from 9:00-12:00. I am so excited for her because I know she is going to love it and I am so excited for me. 9-12! With only a tiny baby at home I could potentially get so much done during other parts of the day, not just during nap time. It’s hard to imagine.
In other news, these guys are finished and ready to ship to the I’m Stuffed show in Baltimore.
Quick turnaround for that one and I’m so glad they are done in time. I’m really ready to work on other projects now. Even perhaps those canvases that have been sitting on the studio floor for how long now?

I remember those days of potty training for the pooping… two things that helped us – going without underpants so that it was instantly obvious to my little guy when that was happening (not too clean, but when outside, it wasn’t too bad). The second was watching to see if there was a pattern (there really wasn’t), but spending time, long times, on the potty, reading story after story, until one day, he actually just pooped (without meaning to) and then he realized it wasn’t scary or anything!
Good luck – both with potty training and with your cube zoo fish!
Cheers.

Wow, fast fish! They look so cute all lined up together. And Roxy–wow! Just like that! I don’t remember much, but I think I started noticing a weird look on Max’s face immediately pre-poop, and scooting him to the potty really quickly then. Good luck! It’ll be so nice when it’s over!

We did the star chart thing with a twist … 5 stars in a row, then a little gift from the toilet fairy would arrive. Something tiny and simple, like a pretty feather, or a single coin of chocolate money (cos thats all the toilet fairy can carry she is so tiny!)
