technical difficulties

January 1, 2007

Hi all-

I hope you had a good New Year’s eve.  We went out to a lovely restaurant in Somerville with our close friends and had a great meal and drinks like grown-ups.

I did make two New Year’s resolutions this year. The first is to get to know my neighbors more.  We’ve lived here for two and half years and I’ve only been in two of my neighbor’s homes.  I think we’ll all enjoy living here more if we know the people who live near us.

And second, I’d like to book another gallery show, no matter how small potatoes it might be.  This upcoming show at the library has been so motivating for me. I’ve created all kinds of new things in preparation for it and I’ve begun to think about my work as a comprehensive whole for the first time.  Once this experience is over I think it would be good for me to find another gallery that is interested in showing my toys.

You’ll notice that there are no pictures in this post.  Our Nikon Coolpix 4300 has decided to quit uploading photos onto our Mac.  Why?  I have no clue.  We’ve read and reread the manual and looked on the website and in iPhoto.  Perhaps it is the cable that connects the camera to the computer?  A new one is on its way from an eBay seller (why doesn’t Nikon sell replacement cables?) and we’re hoping for the best.

This means that once this camera issue is resolved there will be many new toys to show here.  And I’ve got a stack of craft books here that I’m putting up for swap with anyone who’d like to trade craft books with me.  So fun things are coming, I promise.

i had the same problem with my coolpix! the replacement cord ended up being to spendy for me (direct from nikon), so i started using a card reader that plugs into a USB port on the computer. works great!
glad you’ve got the cord on the way – it is so frustrating to be camera-less!

Have you recently updated your iPhoto software? My husband updated it, and now our Canon Powershot is only downloading sporadically on his computer. I haven’t updated iPhoto, and it downloads just fine. I hope the new cord works though!
