humpty dumpty

December 28, 2006

This is what I’ve been busy with

Head_on_3

and here is the egg head without his jaunty cap

No_hat_1

This doll quickly became one of the more complex dolls I’ve made. I wanted him to have bloomers and to be able to sit with his legs bent. Gusseted button jointa seemed to be the best solution.  Once his legs were done this way I needed to make arms with the same jointing system to match.  He is quite prim and proper with his stand-up collar and bow tie.

What an adorable Humpty Dumpty. I think maybe you need to open up a toy store of handmade toys, you would be brilliant at it. He is just so great. I wish your family a Happy New Year too.

Really stunning! It’s funny, I just had a conversation with someone who told me if I decide to have a child I’d have to give up my embroidery work. Glad to see that you can still work during nap time!
