School has started and I have time again. Time to sew and work on new ideas, time to read and think. It feels awesome.
Today, during my stretch of time, I finished a rooster.
This is the first in a small series of three that will go to artstream. I should have the series completed by the end of the month, if not sooner now that I have time!
Last Thursday was Roxanne’s first afternoon at the integrated preschool in Wellesley. She loves physical and occupational therapy – I think the one-on-one attention from the therapists has got to be addictive to anyone. Here she is with her backpack all ready to go.
And today was the first morning of the Jewish nursery school she has been attending for the last two years. Only one more year of nursery school and she’ll be off to kindergarten. What happened to my 4 pound baby?
And my other baby, you know the little one? She is napping right now in her brand new Ikea big girl bed. (Here she is posing once it was all made. Notice the “princess fairy ballerina” sheets she requested. And pink kitty, her other half.)
And she starts her two-day toddler program tomorrow morning. Now we just have to work on helping her use the potty and we’ll be all set.
My sister was visiting at the end of last week and she and I and Mimi Kirchner headed up to Portsmouth Friday evening for the Teeny Tiny Art Show at Three Graces and the Enormous Tiny Art Show at Nahcotta. Both were so fun. All kinds of great people were there and I even bought a teeny tiny piece of art. I had an especially nice chat with Betsy Thompson and I had an especially nice salad at Flatbread.
Here I am with my birds. I am wearing a dress I hadn’t worn all summer because it had a loose button. I finally fixed it. It takes me forever to get around to mending things.
Lovely roosters – so life-like. And your girls are growing up beautifully.
two beautiful girls. AND all this wonderful work. You are amazing.
What gorgeous girls! And the roosters are fantastic. Wanted to let you know too that I wrote a short post about your creations over at my blog in case you are interested. Thanks!
I love the comb on the rooster, and of course the girls are just gorgeous. Don’t they grow quickly. 🙂
