Progress Pride Flag Quilt

Progress Pride Flag Patchwork quilt

I’m very excited to have finished this patchwork Progress Pride Flag quilt. The pattern is by Bobbie Gentili from Geeky Bobbin. All of the fabrics are scraps from my stash.

This was a fun project and the finished quilt is really bright and colorful. As part of this process, I also enjoyed learning more about how the design of the Progress Pride flag came to be.

The flock

January 25, 2006

I finally finished the flock. Five lambs. Two of them are already sold, but if you had contacted me about one, they are up on the shop now. I think these will be the last lambs for a little while. I’ve been doing some sketching for a new softie. Perhaps a chicken or a catRead More →

Snowy Day

January 23, 2006

I finished up these valentines for a special order today. I made them on my new (to me) work desk! Yesterday afternoon we moved a bunch of furniture around to transform the current guest room into the new baby’s nursery. This included dismantling and moving two beds and two desks. Roxanne helped out by bangingRead More →

Soft Yellow Lamb

January 20, 2006

I made this little sweetie yesterday. He is actually the first in a series of five (Why am I making five lambs? I really don’t know. I just do that kind of thing sometimes). The weather is warm again today – in the 50s – and Roxy and my mom and I are headed outRead More →

Year of the Dog

January 19, 2006

This photo will be part of the postcards I will mail for the Postcard Swap. I designed an original dog for this. I think we’re calling it a rat terrier (like our friend Jen’s little dog, Wendel). The only requirements for the postcard was that it incorporate a picture of a dog and the wordsRead More →

Cards

January 17, 2006

Roxanne and I managed to make it out to the mall yesterday afternoon to return a gift. I bought some beautiful cards with birds on them at Anthropologie by Saturate Design. I really need to buckle down and write some letters to my friends back in the Delta. Many of them don’t have ready webRead More →

Fuzzy Green Owl

January 16, 2006

I made Sidney a little girlfriend. She is made of a very soft, fuzzy and nubbly olive material with white and dark fleks in it. She cheered me up on Saturday when, for various reasons, I was having a bad blog moment – feeling like maybe this thing is making me and my family tooRead More →

Sidney

January 13, 2006

My grandfather, Sidney, loved owls. He and my grandmother had a wonderful collection of owl figurines in their apartment, many of which I got after he died. I don’t have them here, though. They are back at my parent’s house. My grandpa was a sweet man. He always had Carefree gum and orange Tic TacsRead More →

Valentines

January 12, 2006

Today I made some valentines. The fronts. Each one is different: The flip sides: I have always loved making valentines. My sister and I would spend long hours in my room when we were young cutting out doilies and gluing them to pink construction paper and making a big glittery mess. In the last severalRead More →

Elephant

January 11, 2006

I finished this soft elephant last night. She is made from a scarf I found at the Salvation Army in New London around Thanksgiving. Actually, there will be two of them because I accidentally sewed two right pieces and no left pieces so I had to cut out two left pieces and thus, two identicalRead More →

Bulldog, brown mouse and some thrifting

January 9, 2006

We had a nice weekend. Even though Charlie and Roxy were both feeling sick Saturday morning, they managed to make it Tot Time so I got a chance to go thrifting in Waltham. I always find such good stuff at the thrift store on Moody Street and this was no exception – there was aRead More →
