Bears and Modhaus Boston

August 11, 2005

There was an article in this morning’s Globe about modhause, a mid-century modern furniture and accessories store…in Boston! Charlie and I are always so frustrated reading Dwell and Modernism and Atomic Ranch because all the good stores are on the west coast. There are a few, like Abodeon in Cambridge and Machine Age in Boston, and we’ve gotton several great pieces at each, but modhaus is totally new to us. I made an appointment to go check out their Dorchester warehouse on Saturday at 11:30. Though it’s been nearly a year since we moved from our 2.5 bedroom condo in Brookline to our house in suburbia, there is still a room (the living room) that is entirely unfurnished. Check out the beautiful jewelry they have, too.

All great rings, and I like this pendant, too.

And, this is our tax free weekend in MA!

On a totally different note, I think this simple bag is just lovely

I’ve agreed to make three artist trading cards (ATCs) to send to Shell. I’ve never made an ATC before, but I’ve read about them at Mimi’s blog. Mimi make beautiful art dolls and she lives near me. I have to think a little before I get started on my first ATC.
