Mini Me

August 12, 2005

Dscn0018

Here is my apron for Tie One On. The theme this month is “mini me” and the assignment was to make two apons – one for yourself and one for someone “small in your life.”

The tops are strip pieced and the ties are made from long hemmed strips of the white fabric. I kinda like the random color assortment. It came out kinda seventies I guess. The red fabric is sparkly.

The big one:

The small one:

And here we are modeling

I wasn’t sure if Roxanne was going to like hers. I’ve never made her anything to wear before. Let’s just say that after her photo shoot was done, she insisted on wearing her apron all around the house until nap time. It fell off once because it wasn’t properly tied and she dragged it back to me to retie it. I had to wrench it off her body when I put her down for a nap just now.

Now that she has her own apron I think she should bake me some cookies.

Oh, how sweet! Those are beautiful aprons! Wouldn’t it be nice if she baked you some cookies… Maybe you can get her to give you some plastic ones.

Hi. Can you explain how you made the apron? Is it strip pieced then cut apart and strip pieced again the other direction? I really really like it. I can’t beieve how much stuff you make!
