New Pattern: Lovey Dovey Mouse, Lamb, Lion, and Monkey

August 7, 2014

Four Lovey Dovies

I have a brand new pattern in my shop! It’s a new set of Lovey Dovies. These makes such fun baby gifts. They’re quick to sew and you get all of the enjoyment of making a softie without all of the work because the body is really just like a blankie.

Lovey Collage

The new set includes a mouse, a lamb, a lion, and a monkey. All of these can easily be made from fleece, but if you’d like to mix it up a bit and use some other soft, plush fabrics I’ll show you what I used for the samples.

  • Mouse: The mouse’s ears are quilting cotton. I like the stripes, but a small scale floral or polka dot would also be cute.
  • Lamb: For an extra soft, wooly lamb I used sherpa fleece from The Fabric Exchange (they’ve got a great selection of faux furs and fleeces, too). The smooth parts of the lamb are fleece.
  • Lion: The yellow and white are fleece, but the orange mane (and the tip of the tail) are cuddle from Shannon Fabrics.  Shanon doesn’t have a direct-to-consumer store, but their fabrics are available in many independent fabric shops, both brick and mortar and online. Their cuddle fabric is the absolute best for softies because it’s incredibly soft and has no stretch at all.
  • Monkey: The dark brown is also Shannon cuddle. The light brown is cotton velveteen. I love this fabric for it’s softness. Many commercially made stuffed animals are sewn from velveteen so when you sew a softie with it your toys look nice and professional.

Child with Monkey Lovey Dovey(My babies aren’t babies anymore. Is an 8-year-old too old for a lovey? I hope not.)

The new Lovey Dovies are o$2 off from for 1-week only (now through August 13). The pattern includes step-by-photos and easy to follow instructions, plus full-sized templates you can print again and again so that you can make lots of baby gifts for friends and family.

Get it in my shop now! Thank you 🙂

Hello, I love the patterns. I purchased it last year. I wanted to make the monkey but the pattern pieces are missing from the download. Can you forward it to me please? Thank you Lise Campeau
