I’m super excited to share my newest pattern with you.
As a mom of three daughters I’ve watched kids play for many, many hours. When my kids were toddlers they all loved playing “night night,” tucking their dolls under the covers and then waking them up again. I designed this doll just for that age and stage.
The Asleep Awake Doll is double-sided. On one side the doll is wearing flannel pajamas and has a sleeping face. Flip it over and the doll is dressed in play clothes and is wide awake.
The pattern includes a boy and a girl so that you can sew dolls for all special kids in your life. The features are embroidered so there are not small parts that might come off and the doll is machine sewn for extra sturdiness. It’s also machine washable! (Wash on the gentle cycle and air dry.)
The pattern comes with step-by-step photos that make it easy to sew even if you’re new to sewing dolls (or to sewing in general). The templates are full-sized – just print and you’re ready to begin.
I bought the hedgehog and whale flannel prints for the pjs at Joann’s. There are so many cute flannels to choose from and this is a great excuse to pick some! If you wanted you could sew a simple baby blanket from the same flannel to wrap the doll up in.
For the play clothes I used some scraps of quilting cotton. The girl’s dress in my sample is a treasured piece of vintage fabric.
The pattern is on sale now through February 10 for $7. Get it now and sew dolls for baby gifts and birthday/holiday gifts when the time comes. You can find it in my shop.
Abby, this is such a cute doll! It looks so cuddly, perfect for naps as well as playtime. I wish you much success with the pattern.
