lizard

May 4, 2011

I took that green herringbone and made a lizard with wool felt spikes.

So much fun. I get such a tremendous feeling of satisfaction with every new animal that materializes.

I cut some felted wool balls in half and used them as bases for his eyes.  I've never done that before, but I like it!  Easy and cute. The stuffing fork was really handy for stuffing his toes, especially the three middle toes that are all connected to one another.

Hello, lizard!

Right. So you just whipped that up in no time. It can take me half a year to hem a pair of pants. Wonderful! So adorable!

As a former owner of a Bearded Dragon and an Iguana it touched my heart to see this creature. Lizards are awesome pets when taken care of properly (Iguanas are not recommended for domestic environments) Bearded Dragons become familiar with you and your voice and are great.

    Aww, very cute!
I made a lizard this week too. They are lovely creatures. 🙂
He has lovely little toes, I find things like that really challenging. Looking forward to your book!

O my gosh, he is so cute! When I lived in Burkina Faso for a summer study abroad program, there was a little lizzard/gecko that lived in my room (he would hide behind pictures and crawl around the walls) and I named him Pierre – this totally reminds me of him 🙂

Love the fingers… it was very clever to make the 3 fingers connected! I also love the use of this fabric for this creature!
    Great job!
