let’s see

February 26, 2010

Random assortment of things going on in my life, as usual.

First, I was alerted last night that my owl is in this spread from the Spring issue of Small Magazine.

I think I mentioned in my last post that I got an iPhone last week.  One of the (many) transformative aspects of this new piece of technology for us is the video camera feature. We have not previously owned a video camera so we have no footage of our children learning to walk or talk or do any of those adorable things that most people record on video.  But now…I can make up for lost time!  In an effort to do that I recorded Roxanne reciting the names of all 44 presidents in order.  Why? Because I can.  Here it is!

Okay, and finally, I finished a pink fish yesterday.

I am making one more, in blue, and then all three will be sent off to artstream, along with a collection of birds.

That's all for now, I think.  Have a great Friday!

So cute–the fish, too, of course–but the presidents! Argh. It’s so adorable that she’s so president-crazy. What do you think brought it on?

    They’ll be moving Roxanne from
    Kindergarten up into third grade
before we know it. That is what
happened to Oprah, I just heard
on a CD! She could spell the longest
names in the Old Testament at 5.
    Hooray for the iPhone’s arrival.
You deserve it and it’s already
    paid for itself.

OMG abby. ( I’ve never used that cheesy texting shorthand before, but Rox and I are birds of a feather ! she’s much earlier than I or course, but I learned the presidents in order in order to win James and giant peach in a4th grade and never forgot. And it came in handy so many times. If she ever goes to Chicago, the street names are th presidents in order, I actually (pre-GPS days) found our way out of a lost situation by remembering that harrison was was 2 after jackson- it will serve her well ! Yes, she will tell you excitedly how Cleveland is the only president to serve two non-consecutive terms.

    Jen-
I told Roxanne about the streets in Chicago after I read your comment. She expresses a lot of interest in living on Abraham Lincoln street!

That is so incredible! I can’t even believe it. I remember when you memorized the presidents in high school and even then I was astounded.
