goldfish

February 23, 2010

DSC_0026

I made a felt goldfish. I added some little orange seed beads to give him some sparkle, along with an iridescent tail.

Certain patterns I've made just really work well and this is one of them. I know it's a good one when I keep coming back to make more.  I love the big, bulging eyes on some goldfish and I think this really captures them.  Plus it is a great way to use up those random fabrics, some of which are really beautiful, but don't otherwise work for sewing animals that need to be stuffed.

I just put him up in my shop.

    Hi Manda,
I am still thinking about the fox. I made a failed fox and unstuffed him. He'll come around eventually, I think.

I love the beads and the tail. He reminds me of the marionettes in this cool show we saw last weekend: The Dragon King by the Tanglewood Marionette. They perform in MA. . .

    Hi Terrill,
I haven't seen that particular show, but they did an awesome Cinderalla here. Cinderalla is transported to the ball in a hot air balloon. We loved it!
