Everything looks better with a scarf

I had several requests recently for more mice. I hade made a little fur mouse probably six months ago, maybe longer, and got some good feedback on him so I busted out the pattern pieces again yesterday and made up another one. This time he is linen (boy do I love that big piece of linen – everything is made from it lately!) and he is already sold.

In a fast moment of excitement last night Etsy put my shop up as one of its featured stores. This little mouse was pictured, but once he was bought up another shop took my place on the featured list.

While I was searching through old patterns, I took out one from a 1970s Women’s Day book on soft toys for a frog. I made one of these frogs about 9 months ago and now I’m giving him another go. It is so interesting to me to try these patterns again now that I actually know how to sew. They are much less frustrating and the creatures are much nicer looking.

We had the 24 week doctor’s appointment this morning for the baby we are currently calling “S-Dawg” (her first name will begin with the letter “S” after my grandfather, Sidney). I drank my yucky glucose drink and felt a little woozy. Roxy stayed with a new babysitter who was really impressed that she likes to read so much. That’s Roxanne for you – books are her favorite toys.

I’m going to take a nap while she naps today.
