collaged valentines

January 7, 2007

Valentine_3_1

I’ve been  making a lot of collages recently, in between bouts of sewing. I find it is a good way to refresh creativity. It is a different way of thinking, a totally different way of making – no fussy seams, no fiddling with stuffing.

Valentine_4

I made this series of five valentines. Each one had two mini collages affixed to high quality card stock and includes a matching envelope.

Like tiny pieces of art to give to someone you love.  They are now up in my shop.

I’ve caught the “collage bug” too 🙂 and I agree – such a great way to refresh creativity. These are lovely – love the colour combinations.

I’d love to have a go at collage, seems the perfect way to use up those scraps of fabric. These are lovely pieces you’ve created. I’m so pleased valentines is on its way as I love working in heart shapes and I don’t feel silly indulging this time of year.
