Bear for William
A sweater bear I just finished. He is made from muslin instead of wool – I thought I’d try making one from a non-stretchy fabric. His body is made from a thrifted pillow case. He is being mailed off as a gift to my friend Robert’s new son, William. Robert and I dated my senior…
Ooops, seems I forgot
May 3rd was my one year blog anniversary. Slipped my mind. Guess having a baby on April 25th sort of overshadowed it a bit. It’s hard to believe that I’ve had While She Naps for a whole year. This blog has been a lot of fun for me. It provides me with a wonderful sense…
Yes, there is still crafting going on despite the mighty rain
Today is the sixth day in a row of cold and rain. Mister Sunshine is hiding (according to Roxanne) so we can’t go to the park. We’re feeling rather cooped up here, but despite the gloomy weather we’ve managed to try a new pub in Ashland this weekend (it was excellent – especially the chips…
brown and orange fish
The second fish is done. This was the last of that marvelous brown tea towel from I found at a yard sale last summer. I’ve been hanging on to a scrap of it for a long time, but I’m glad to see it in use on a project now.
fish and bird
A few new creatures for the charity auction – this little bird in purple with a scarf around her head and this bright fish with some pink embroidery and one more fish in brown and orange is nearly done. Today is our first day at home without daddy to help out. Things have been surprisingly…
Rummage Sale Finds
Stella and I managed to make it out of the house by ourselves this morning. We went to another church rummage sale and then to an incredible estate sale. Lots of ooohhhing and ahhhing over the new baby by everyone we met, and lots of random comments about me having a baby so new out…
Back in the Swing of Things
Well, I’ve been a mother of two for nine days and it’s been overwhelming, but I’m getting the hang of it now and I feel like my feet are back on the ground. Stella is an awesome baby – an efficient nurser, a total cutie pie, and great sleeper to boot (keep your fingers crossed…

Stella Beatrix Glassenberg was born on Tuesday evening at 7:37 pm. 7 lbs. 3 oz. 19 inches Named for her great grandfather Sidney and her great aunt Bobbe. She came home today to meet her sister Roxanne. We are a family of four.
Purple Elephant
I made this soft purple elephant for my friend Lynne’s baby girl. I just love this fabric – it is a short pile super soft fur. I had a yellow piece a while back, sent to me by my BackTack II partner, and this purple piece is from Maitreya from my prints for solids swap….
