A Saturday Afternoon Frog

May 14, 2005

Charlie took Roxy to music class this morning which meant that I had two hours on my own. I was able to go to Anthropologie and get some nice new tops for the summer and, of course, pop into Joann’s for some wool felt and some sale calicos. I’ve never worked with wool felt before and I got enough to make a few dolls.

When I got home, it was only an hour until naptime. I decided to make a froggie this afternoon from a pattern I got out of a book I checked out of the library last week. He was pictured with a family of elves in the book – the elves are rather creepy, but the frog was pretty cute. I think he would make a good pin cushion. Here he is frolicking among the lillies of the valley that are growing on the side of our house. I had fun taking this picture because they smell so sweetly!

Here is a shot of the little one pushing her cart on the front lawn. I think she’s going to walk pretty soon. Then I’ll probably need to just nap at naptime, huh.

I had to comment because I think I have that same book!! I thought the same thing about the creepy elves! the frog is great though. I will have to find it and make one now that I see how cute they can really be!!
