a little giveaway

September 7, 2007

Dscn0002

A few weeks ago a copy of Softies arrived on my doorstep from Penguin Publishing Australia.  It is such a beautiful book and I was totally thrilled to contribute two of my patterns – an owl pattern and my lizard – to be published in it.   The photography is amazing as is the list of contributers. Besides my patterns, you’ll find patterns by Carly, Sandra, Myra, Fiona, and many more awesome soft toy artists.

A few days  ago I opened a second package sent from Penguin and found two more copies of the book.  I surely don’t need three copies so I would like to give one away.  I think you’ll have a lot of fun with this book.  The instructions and diagrams are really clear and the projects are very appealing.  The book is only published in Australia right now so it is not the easiest thing to find if you don’t live there.

If you’d like my extra copy, plus a little package of fabric and buttons and trim, leave me a comment below.  I will turn off comments on Sunday morning and then draw a name to determine the winner.  Thank you to everyone who visits and reads my journal. Your support and encouragement mean the world to me.

***Thanks everyone!  I will announce a winner soon!***

I started reading your blog by accident nearly a year ago when I was looking for a pattern for a stuffed elephant. I’ve still never made a stuffed elephant but I did click on some of your links, got drawn into the world of craft blogging (or craft blog reading) and have made lots of fun and exciting things as a consequence! Congratulations on being published – seems like you’re on a real roll at the moment.

I have been dying to make some of the characters which feature in my paintings in 3d form but lack of confidence (oh why does that have to rear its ugly head!!) has prevented me thus far – your work has certainly inspired me to give it a go however and I will make that jump soon!!
