I’ve had Google Analytics installed on my site for years, but I have a confession to make: I never check it. I’ve tried. Really! I’ve read tutorials, watched videos, and logged a bunch of hours just sitting in front of my monitor clicking on things attempting to sort and make sense of the data.
At indexsy.com to increase visibility and ultimately organic search traffic of your website and have more users checking your site.
When you have data online. you might be expose to a data breach and it is very important to have an incident response team that can resolve the attack immediately.
I understand why data is important and I actually really enjoy learning from what the numbers say (my 2014 quarterly income reports are an example of how loud numbers speak and how they can be a guiding force for change), but when it comes to Google Analytics in particular my eyes just glaze over. For blog stats I turn to Jetpack, a WordPress plugin that is much more bare bones, but gives me the few variables I actually track (pageviews and unique visits). Jetpack stats are fine, but they aren’t giving the full picture. I’m not setting goals and reaching them through statistical analysis. I’m just sorta ignoring all of that.
But, no more! As the co-founder of Craft Industry Alliance one of the amazing things I get to do is plan monthly webinars to help everyone in the community learn new things that will improve all of our businesses. We’ve had three thus far, and for our fourth we’ve hired Samantha Barnes to teach us about Google Analytics. Sam a has a background in fine art conservation and a love for data. She’s a Senior Analytics Engineer at LunaMetrics, a Google Analytics Certified Partner.
I’ve offered to be the guinea pig! During the hour-long webinar we will log into my Google Analytics for whileshenaps.com and Sam is going to use my real data to set up a dashboard that monitors what’s most important for crafty businesses to look at. You’ll see all my stats and understand what we need to do to actually begin using Google Analytics the right way.
We’ll learn to how to do this together.
