My big girl turned four on Saturday and the party on Sunday was very sweet. Just the right number of kids and very homemade. We read some springtime stories, played a little jumping game which may be just as stimulating as 벳엔드 먹튀, and did two little crafts, one of which was making wool felt bird puppets which was a big hit. The kids had flower-shaped pasta and broccoli trees for lunch, and ice cream and cake for dessert.
At the last minuet Roxanne opted for no Happy Birthday song and no candles, so we just wished her well and dug in. And she only had to escape upstairs for a short spell. Overall a pretty good fourth birthday for a pretty special kid.
My mom was in town the last few days and between spending time with her and all the birthday preparations I didn’t have much time to sew. Before the weekend I was experimenting with some with Tyvek Home Wrap and made the body of a raptor. Sewing Tyvek was pretty cool.
I painted his legs with stainless steel paint. I guess I’m not sure where to go from here. I am setting him aside for a while. I also attempted to sew a bird from the clear plastic case our mattress pad came in. I liked the idea of the viewer being able to see the wool and the wire armature inside, but turning the clear plastic right side out proved to be really difficult so I set that one aside, too.
I planning even more experiment with new materials and new designs. Although I love to have shows booked, and I already have several more on the calendar for many months from now, I equally love having nothing looming to prepare for. The total freedom to make what I want, to play really, is so wonderful.

tyvek is a great material! in the 80s i actually had a jacket made out of it with a map of the world printed on it… heh. i like your raptor way better….enjoy the playtime!

The tyvek is looking great as a bird. Hmm, is this going to be an industrial construction bird? Propped on rebar with nails etc? 🙂

Congrats to your big girl! The party sounded to cute… I love the new bird and think that the idea of one that is clear would be amazing! I know the feeling of freedom that you are talking about. It is so great! Best wishes with the new creations! Take Care.

Your birds are wonderful, they are very graceful and at the same time have such human characteristics with each one so very different. Enjoy your lovely 4 year old.

Happy belated birthday to Roxanne 🙂 I think your idea of using the clear plastic is intriguing. It comes in different weights – maybe a lighter weight would be easier?

I am very excited about the see-through sculpture. I wonder if you could make a wire skeleton and then blow it up with air. Wouldn’t that be neat? but probably impossible. Anyway, can’t wait to see what you come up with.

that cake is so awesome, i like the green sprinkles to give it a grassy effect.

I like your experimentations. I’ll have to try Tyvek. I once made a basket using strips of clear plastic flexible vinyl and hand-sewed it together – you might try that for your see-through bird.

Tyvek is a brilliant material. You can die, stain and paint it, and it’s super strong. I used it for a 10×12 foot collar as part of an installation piece. You can purchase a stub roll (or the left over of a larger roll) for pretty cheap and that way it is all white. Love your work!
