Okay, two down for MassHort, ten more to go. Can you tell I sorted through my greens?
Because I often use the tiniest pieces of fabric for toys, I keep every
scrap. The cotton fabrics live in clear plastic bins, one for each
color, on the bookshelves in our bedroom. To find the piece I want I
dump out the whole bin and sort through it. I don’t fold pieces before
putting them back because that takes time and because the pieces are
for the most part really irregular in shape.
But periodically the bins become so full that they no longer close and
then they start to barely fit on their shelves and that’s a sure sign
that I need to clean them out.
Turns out I had lots of shades of solid green, perfect for this fellow’s shell.
Here he is from behind because I always really appreciate it when people post pictures of the backs of their toys.
I really need to make some tags for the 50+ toys that are hanging around here. Maybe tonight. We are baking the lemon cake with lemon frosting that is in this month’s Cook’s Illustrated tonight because Charlie’s 35th birthday is tomorrow. I could potentially tag things while the cake is in the oven. Or I could sit on the couch.

Those sleepy little eyes and stubby little legs – how cute! My vote, for all it’s worth, is that you should sit on the couch.
