No, not for birthing the baby. Geez.
Ever since I visited Mimi and she told me the she uses tiny forceps and several other pieces of her father’s surgical equipment for turning and stuffing dolls I have been wanting to get my hands on a set of forceps. I saw this site described on Sewing Stars as a place to get teddy bear supplies and sure enough they had several to choose from. Mine arrived yesterday and I can’t wait to try them out. With my parents in town and the party tomorrow there is probably no sewing for me until Monday, though.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes for my little Roxanne. Have a great weekend everyone!

Oh Abby! I can get a ton of these for free! Please let me know if you need more and I’ll ship them to you. A lot of instruments get thrown away even if they’ve never been used at the hospital, and my husband brings home scissors all the time. He can grab some clean forceps too.

we discovered (after an emergency room visit for or little guy) that the docotors throw away those, the (super sharp)scissors and anything else they use for giving stitches. The doc offered them to me. I love them! But I just feel sick thinking of all the “one time used” scissors and forcep thingies are dumped daily.

Hi!
I just wanted to comment that I love visiting your blog. I am also a mother of a 2 year old and I try to be as crafty as possible. You have really inspired me to use Jack’s naptime to do something creative…. not just to get housework done. I feel like a floodgate of creative energy has opened up! Thank you.

so funny that you posted about tools today- I’ve been planning forever to post about my favorite tool and finally started a few days ago. I’ll get to forceps soon I guess! Geesh, and I didn’t know they threw them away at the hospital- yikes!
