Here is the sock monkey I made for my friend Austin’s son, Murphy. This monkey came out a bit bigger than I expected. I’d like to try one made from baby socks. We brought him over to meet the baby yesterday afternoon. I forget how tiny newborns are, how much like a fetus they are. And this one was 7 lbs. 10 ounces at birth. Weighing in at 4 lbs. 9 ounces, Roxanne was so tiny and she must have looked so so so tiny to everyone else. She was beautiful, though (still is), and I hope my next little girl is just as healthy and wonderful.
Wow. I guess I’m getting emotional about this pregnancy. It’s nice to feel good and have energy to focus on my growing baby.

I just love your monkey… He is so cute… Did you really make him out of a sock?

Okay, that is the cutest thing. I’m so out of it and only learned about sock monkeys a few weeks ago. Where can I find out how to make one?

Murphy is such a handsome guy! I love how he turned out!
It’s so easy to forget how tiny babies are when they’re newly born. I love the extra emotions that come with being pregnant.
