WIP

December 8, 2006

I’ve been in a bit of a creative funk the last few days – feeling overwhelmed by the number of pieces still left to make for the library show and feeling so saddened by the story of the Kim family. Stella is seven months old now, like Sabine, and I am a nursing mom with two little girls. I find that I can’t stop thinking about what happened to them and feeling so scared and sad.  Today I am trying to tackle new things and get my mind moving a bit.

I made this piece of special fabric today for a new project. I’m sure you can guess what it is.

I’ve been feeling this anxiety for the last several days since hearing of the family’s plight. Very sad and lost in my feelings too. I hope that your new project brightens your everyday.

Good lord, look at how creative you are! I think the last time I made something with my hands was when I was ten, and thinking back, it was a pile of crap. Have you seen what this lady does with dog hair?

I know exactly what you mean about the Kim family. I just keep thinking though – thank goodness she’s a breastfeeding mom! Her choice to nurse kept her children alive.
