Today was Roxanne’s birthday party. We did some alphabet crafts involving lots of alphabet stickers, read some alphabet books, had alphabet pasta for lunch and an alphabet cake (those are little alphabet cookies I baked on there) for dessert. Charlie built a lovely centerpiece with the alphabet blocks. It was alphabetastic.
She woke up this morning singing the alphabet song. We did not, however, sing the Happy Birthday song and we left the #3 candle unlit. She still freaked out, but it was a relatively mild freak out – although if you ask her now she’ll tell you that she was "crying and crying." I think she had a good day, though.
My parents have been here visiting, they left today, so she got lots of extra adult attention and she tried to play a bit with the two kids who came over to celebrate with her (although she refused to say good-bye to them when they left).
Stella’s birthday is next, at the end of April (can you believe she is nearly one already?). I’m thinking a star theme. Definitely a star cake.
