Tea Time Mod Doll

July 8, 2005

Dscn1140

Sometimes I feel badly that I spend much of each evening up in our room with my sewing machine, instead of downstairs with my husband so last night I tried staying downstairs for a while. I was hanging out on the couch, starring vacantly at the baseball game on T.V. and starting to doze. So, Charlie sent me upstairs to do some crafting. This little tea time mod doll is the result.

I like the little curl in her hair and her dotty tights. I decided not to be afraid of using my prized fabrics and prized buttons. What are they for, after all? So, she got the awesome green vintage button for her hair and the great vintage tea towels for her dress.

She is cheering me up on this dreary, rainy July day in Boston.

I just love her! Her hair! The button! The tights! You continue to amaze me…
And it IS a dreary day, isn’t it? I shouldn’t be in jeans, a long sleeved T, and a sweater in mid-July!

That is so cute! I love that you used felt (I’m guessing) for her hair. And I totally understand the hoarding prized supplies…I do the same thing. Might as well put them on something as cute as her rather than keeping them locked away a la Silas Mariner!

She’s so lovely!!! What adorable fabrics.
And I do the same thing at night….my husband eventually sends me back crafting. 😉

I love the fabric for the legs, and the hair is really creative…nice use of that rockin’ button we found

I am totally in love with this doll! Two of my favorite things together: mod fabrics and felt. I can hardly stand it — she is just so cute.
