starfish

March 2, 2010

I made a felt starfish this morning.

DSC_0018

I have gotten a lot of suggestions to make a fish mobile.  My friend, Terrill, had the idea of adding a starfish and maybe a jellyfish.  I thought that would be cool so I made a felt starfish this morning.

Thank you for all the great input on yesterday's post about making the goldfish pattern available.  I am now thinking it would be great to make the pattern available as a free download on the side bar of the blog. My blog will be turning five in a few weeks and a free pattern seems like a great way to celebrate.  The only obstacle is the big gaps in my computer skills.  Urrrrrr…

So I'm looking around now for someone locally who can help me learn some new skills. I hope I can find someone good. I would like to learn to take a hand-drawn pattern and clean it up digitally. Then add text and step-by-step photos and post the whole thing as an easily downloadable PDF.  Hopefully a little one-on-one teaching is all I need.

    That starfish is perfection. Hooray
    for celebrations and posted patterns!
Better still that you created it so fast, yourself, this morning.

Oh, I love the starfish. Beautiful.
And I’m trying to figure out all that PDF-pattern making stuff myself, so I’d love to hear from you if you figure it all out!

A starfish pattern would be so wonderful – and it definitely has your line to it, not just *any* starfish!

    Hi Lillian,
Thank you so much! The pattern for this starfish is in Seaside Home. I contributed it to the book. You can find it on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Seaside-Home-Creatures-Sailboats-Collective/dp/1607054140

[…] is Seaside’s logo, I started researching felt seastars, and the one I loved best was at the blog While She Naps, that gave me the inspiration to do one with wavy arms instead of strait like when they are dried. […]
