penguins

November 13, 2006

We are back from a nice weekend in New London with my in-laws. Roxanne got tons and tons of attention from her Mimi and had a great time eating “crispy bacon”, one of Mimi’s specialities and something mommy doesn’t make at home.

Before leaving I got these two penguins underway and I finished them up today. Here are the trio together. I told you I like making things in threes.

And I got my box all packaged up for Craftland. I should be able to haul it to the post office tomorrow afternoon.

I think I failed to mention that last Sunday evening I won a prize at the Wellesley Newcomer’s Club annual chili cookoff. Most Original Chili. Unfortunately I wasn’t there to claim my prize, or actually to taste any of the chilis, because Roxy had a MAJOR temper tantrum and had to be hauled home after only half and hour. My chili was pretty tasty, though. And I bought a crock pot/slow cooker before the cookoff so that I could keep my chili hot during the evening and now I’m into recipes for the slow cooker. I made a super chicken recipe last week and I’m thinking lamb or beef is next. If have any good recipes, send them my way.

Lovely penguins. The one on the left is my favorite, I like that B&W circles print. And congrats on winning the chili contest! Most original–makes me wonder what interesting ingredients you’re putting in!

I have a penchant for penguins! I love watching them on wildlife programmes, so full of character, hilarious creatures. Your little guys capture the essence so well. x

Craftland sounds wonderful! I wish I could go! What a wonderful event to be a part of! I’d also like to say that your blog and work are an inspiration. I don’t know how you find time to make so many things!
