New Pattern: Rabbit in a Magic Hat

October 16, 2012

It's time for a little magic…

Abracadabra…hocus pocus…shazam!

Pull a rabbit out of a hat!

dqKil7 on Make A Gif, Animated Gifs

I have a new pattern in my shop today. It's a neat hand puppet.

To make it work, put your hand underneath the magician's hat and bring it up into the body of the bunny (the hat and the bunny are cleverly attached inside). Put your pinkie in one of the bunny's arms, your thumb in the other, and your middle three fingers into his fully-lined and stuffed head.

Now you're ready to do a magic show!

Pull your hand down and the rabbit disappears inside the hat. Then make him peek out! First just the tips of his ears show, then his shy eyes, and then he pops up with a big smile. Ta da!

Make him clap and wave to the audience! And then he'll disappear again!

I had so much fun designing this toy. I hope you'll love making it! My pattern includes step-by-step photos and easy to understand instructions. You can find it right here.

This is so cute! I love interactive toys. And please tell your daughter her hair is awesome. I love seeing other curly-haired girls!

Aw, thanks! And I will tell her. We have quite a few curly haired girls in our house 🙂 Designing interactive plush is my very favorite thing!

I made this the day after I purchased your pattern and it has been cheering up a sick girl all day! She loves it! I had a ball making it and love it just as much as Miss 3. the students in my Year 9 class a re begging to make one each! What a winner! I’ll post a picture on my blog in a few moments!
Thanks for your hard work and creative humour!
