New Pattern: Patchwork Elephant (Plus a Discount on Precuts)

I’m so excited today to release my newest pattern: the Patchwork Elephant. Way back in 2009 I made a pink patchwork elephant just for fun and posted it here on my blog. Ever since then I’ve gotten a steady stream of requests for a patchwork elephant pattern and I put it on my “some day” list of things to work on.

Then, a month or so ago I cleaned out my entire studio and gave away 12 bags of fabric. As a reward I went to the store and treated myself to a pretty roll of pre-cut strips. (I know it seems a bit ironic to reward oneself for getting rid of fabric by buying more fabric, but there it is.)

I’d never worked with pre-cuts before. Pre-cuts are like candy – an easy sugar rush! I realized that using a pre-cut roll of strips would make it so easy to create the patchwork for an elephant so I finally got to work on him.

I thought it would also be fun to make one from solids, sorta like Elmer the Elephant.

And then one more that wasn’t patchwork at all – just  a sweet baby blue print.

The pattern is now ready! And I have a little extra goodness to throw in. I thought it would be nice to help you get a roll (or two!) of pre-cuts at a discount so that you can sew your own elephant.
