Humpty Dumpty is the classic nusery rhyme character. What's not to love about a dapper, cheerful egg sitting so innocently on brick wall? I first made a Humpty Dumpty doll in 2007 and he has been one of my most popular designs.
And today I'm thrilled announce that you can now make one along with me in my new online workshop on Craftsy!
Have you checked out the Craftsy workshops yet? In a workshop you get a super duper detailed set of pattern instructions with more than 50 (!) photos to guide you every step of the way, plus tips and details that will help you really make a great project.
Here is a sample of one of the step-by-step photos so you can see how they look.
But more than that, you get interactive help from me and from other students. Whenever you want you can ask questions in specific places about specific parts. And I will respond within a few hours. I can show you a picture from a different angle, or we can talk about different materials or techniques as you sew.
The end result will be that you sew an awesome Humpty Dumpty doll, and you'll pick up some cool design elements along the way, like the gusseted button joints that connect the upper and lower arms and legs.
I made the Humpty you see here from an pillow case and one of Charlie's old dress shirts, although you could also use some solid white and striped quilting cottons.
If you haven't set up a Craftsy account yet, hop on over here. It's totally free and takes just a second. And please join me in this workshop! It is $11.99, a fraction of the cost of a live workshop, but certainly just as rich and informative.
Come sew with me!
This is great Abby! Is an online class with Craftsy on the horizon? I will definitely sign up to that too!
I think that would be amazing! Especially a "design your own plush" class.
YES YES YES please – I am going to stalking Craftsy even more often now!
