freshening up

July 17, 2009

DSC_0048

Whether or not it is necessary, which is certainly debatable, I made a new pincushion today. Like wearing clean underwear when you go to the doctor, I felt it would be nice to have some fresh supplies ready for the photo shoot for my book.  So, I dragged myself over to the hardware store and the craft store this morning and got new glass-headed pins (the kind that aren't bent!) and new pliers (without rust!) and the like. And when I came home I forced myself to make this new pincushion.  I love the selvedge edge of linen and I'm always happy to include it in a project. And vintage glass buttons. Okay, now I back to real work.

It’s lovely. And I totally understand that you needed to make a new pincushion. Ofcourse you had to! Goodluck with your work.

I love how you said you “freshened” by going to the hardware store!
I love your work and follow you…
    When is the photo shoot?

I adore the edge of linen but have never thought of a way to use it–good job!

    Hi Pattee,
The photo shoot is at the end of the first week in August. Lots of work to do between now and then!

I still can’t believe (actually I can) how far you’ve come with your art since I started reading here three years ago. I can’t wait to see this book! I always head to the thrift store—perhaps the hardware store would be more practical and less expensive! 😉
