Darcy the Dachshund Pattern

July 13, 2012

Dachshund Cover Image

I have a brand new pattern in the shop today: a dachshund puppy! When I was growing up we would always ask my mom to tell us stories about the dachshund she had as a child. His name was Meatball and, according to my mother, in the winter Meatball would sit on the heat grate in the living room until he was so hot nobody could touch him. In other words, he would become a hotdog. We thought this story was incredible and hilarious and we heard it many, many times when we were growing up. Meatball, I dedicate this pattern to you!

On a side note, my neighbors must be entirely sure now that I'm insane after watching me lie on my belly in the middle of the road taking dozens of pictures of a puppy stuffed animal next to a fire hydrant.

Oh! This dog is adorable! This would be great sewing practice for me, and I know my dog obsessed mother will adore the pattern.
I’ve just started really trying to photograph my plush, and I’m quickly coming to the conclusion that I’m going to have to go outside with it and deal with my neighbors stares. I’ve been avoiding that reality, but maybe it’s just time to embrace it.

great pattern and great story Abby, and that photo is awesome. I find the photo possibly the hardest thing…so outside my skill base. That photo is just perfect.
