chicken camp

June 25, 2009

First, a new Springtime bird is up in the shop today.

And also it looks like we will be borrowing two chickens from Land's Sake, our CSA farm, for two weeks.  They will arrive on Monday evening in their own coop and they will live in our backyard.  I called our neighbor this morning to be sure that it was okay with her and she said it was like the chickens were going to camp.  Chicken camp.  I'm totally excited.  Fresh eggs every morning.  Lots of clucking and feathers.  Hooray!

I’ve never heard of a CSA that loans out chickens! What a hoot.
(I think we’re building a coop this weekend.)

Oh, how wonderful…we grew up with many chickens…we also had chickens disapear because of foxes!
I love your work and your Springtime Bird is SO precious!

How neat that they lend chickens to people! Jon and I are interested in having chickens, but I’m still trying to figure out whether our county allows it. (Well, I should say that I’m really into the idea and Jon is supportive.) I would love to be able to have a couple for 2 weeks just to make sure I’m really up for it.
