BackTack Received (and it is so wonderful!)

November 7, 2005

I was lucky enough to receive a wonderful package from Lori at gryphons feather a week ago. She sewed a beautiful polka dotted canvas tote with pockets on the inside and a magnetic closure and she filled it with the most exciting treats.

So much lovely yard and knitting needles (plus a handmade needle roll for knitting and another for crochet needles) plus a DVD to teach me how to knit! Yeah! And darning needles, too. Everything to get me going as a knitter. I am really excited to learn and maybe I’ll even get to knit something for the new baby.

Next was some super soft yellow fabric for a softie and lots of supplies for embroidery, including a wonderful Japanese embroidery book! Yipee! She also tucked in a vintage craft book, a book on fabric stamping (another new craft for me) and two vintage aprons.

And…can you believe there is more?…all the supplies to make cloth covered buttons! I’ve already started on these and they are so much fun. I have all sorts of ideas for them, including some greeting cards.

Lori, thank you! I’m sorry it took me so long to post your beautiful package, but I am enjoying every bit of it. You were a great backtack buddy!

Ooh, is that a hank of Mango Moon Recycled Silk Yarn I see? You can make a lovely scarf with just one hank of it, and it’s incredibly easy (the scarf was one of my very first knitting projects.) There’s a pattern from Mango Moon here, but I prefer my own pattern. Good luck in learning to knit, and congratulations on receiving such a wonderful Back Tack!

Wow! What a great backtack package you got! I love that tote! I too requested knitting as my secret craft desire! You have conquered so many other crafts, I can’t wait to see what you knit!
