When I made the pattern for the Asleep Awake Doll I cut out a several dolls to sew up. This little girl ended up all sewn, but sat on my work table waiting to be stuffed for a few months. This weekend it was time to give her some attention.
On the awake side she has a Cotton+Steel dress with an eyelet lace collar and black boots. And on the asleep side she’s wearing flannel jammies with a woodland animal print from Joann’s.
Here she is taking a nap with her buddy. And tucked in under my hexie doll quilt (below). These dolls are really quick to make (I have no excuse to have procrastinated for so long in finishing her up) and they’re awesome for toddlers who love to play “night night.”
It would be fun to make a doll quilt using the same fabrics as the doll so that they coordinate. That could be a neat birthday or shower gift.
Get the pattern for this double-sided Asleep Awake doll in my shop (it comes with a boy version, too).

Hi Abby,
The doll is super cute! Could you share a little bit about how you did your instagram video with her? I just read an article regarding short videos on instagram and looks like you’ve got the idea!
Thanks!

Hi Laurie,
I used Hyperlapse, an Instagram app. It was super easy!
