Today I made some valentines.
The fronts. Each one is different:
I have always loved making valentines. My sister and I would spend long hours in my room when we were young cutting out doilies and gluing them to pink construction paper and making a big glittery mess. In the last several years I have started making sewn valentines. The cards I made today incorporate the scraps from the Plain Spoken quilt I pieced for my yet-to-be-born neice, Emerson Rose (whose due date, by the way, is on Valentine’s Day). They are now for sale in the shop.
We are currently experiencing a January thaw – it was 54 degrees out on our way home from Tot Time and dare I say we are going to the playground this afternoon!
Roxanne is going through a “I will not eat anything at all and if I even try something and you think I’m going to eat it, don’t worry, I will spit it out my half-chewed food and scream for a good fifteen minutes” phase. God help us. We are pretty much down to Craisins and yogurt smoothies. Check out finslippy, one of my favorite blogs, for a very funny post by someone else going through the same thing.
*Hey, it’s International De-Lurking Week so come on out and say hello. I’d like to hear from you!
I love your valentines! Do you have to do anything special with your sewing machine to sew on paper?
And, if you have to survive on two food items, Craisins and yogurt smoothies aren’t too bad in the scheme of things.
your valentines look fantastic! It can be fun to do valentines crafts – keeps me away from the commercial aspects, but still gives me something pink/red & fun to make!
I guess I’m de-lurkifying. I love watching what you make and post on your blog. I see all the softies and want to fill my new baby’s crib with them so he has some friends when he comes in April!! I’m a crafter too, check out my blog for updates on crafts and my little guy on the way. http://inthekeyoflife.typepad.com

A lurker no more! Thanks for all the effort you put into this blog– it is very inspiring!
